No, Anak Bentala is a learning center
It’s the combination of natural science, social science, general knowledge, and art under sustainability’s umbrella.
We like to call it “Child Development Journal” where the progress is not based on numbers or grading.
For Bum (4-7 years old), we use intra-curricular learning activities which are “Freedom to Learn, Freedom to Play” that provides a fun and meaningful experience for children in nature. Meanwhile for the older children, Buana (7-9 years old), the learning model is “Integrated Learning” and “Experiental Learning” with a “Project Based Learning” learning approach where the children can integrate and learn to be a problem solver through critical thinking practice.
The concept and theory around benefits of learning in nature are well explored and evidence-based. Learning in nature is not only learning about plants. It will also develop numeracy, literacy, motor skills, and social skills around nature.
